This Sunday 23rd May, Worship will be led by Alison Gee within the church building.  It will also be live streamed via zoom.  The zoom log in details are the same as usual and can be found on the attachment.

You must book in advance by phone to attend in person.  Details are attached.

Pentecost Sunday Evening: Join us online for a meditation service at 6.30pm prepared by the Church Stewards with Revd Doreen Koffie-Williams. The zoom link is attached below.


Coffee Shop Sunday Zoom Online Worship Gathering is this coming Sunday 23rd May at 4pm. All are welcome – Hope you can join in celebration of Pentecost. (More information, including link, is attached)

Sunday 30th May morning worship will be a Circuit service online.  There is a flyer attached with the youtube link. 

Teddy Bears Picnic.  “In partnership with our wonderful Circuit Youth Pastors Ady and Ruda we are inviting you to a virtual Teddy Bears Picnic on Zoom on Sunday 30th May at 4pm – 5.30pm. Details are on the attached poster that Ady designed. ALL ARE WELCOME. After such a stressful year this is a chance to have some fun together and celebrate all the gifts that our extraordinarily God offers, even and especially in challenging times. REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR TEDDY BEAR”  Trevor Gay.  (Zoom link will be published next week)

Coffee Shop Sunday . New Prayer Book:  “Praise God we are starting to print in the next few days our SIXTH Prayer Booklet written by 29 co-authors under the umbrella of Coffee Shop Sunday and already today I’ve taken orders for 88 copies. This latest prayer booklet is called ‘Emerging From Lockdown’ which seems appropriate as we gently move forward. I hope you may find these booklets helpful as a prayer gift.”  Trevor Gay.

If you would like a printed copy, please contact Trevor or one of the Church Stewards.  The cost is £2 per copy and £1.50 per copy for orders over 10.

Message received by Heather from Stephen, Rod King’s son:

“Dad was buried with Mum last Friday at Skelton Cemetery, nr Saltburn By the Sea. Ian, Linda & I were in attendance and supported by a local minister.

In relation to donations in lieu of flowers, a total of £385.00 has been donated to ‘Blind Veterans UK’…. We are very grateful for support received and donations made.”

Sunday Coffee meeting   The zoom meeting will be open from 12noon – 12.30pm.

Monday Fellowship Group:  24th May, 7.30pm.  The zoom link is the same as Sunday worship.  We share part 2 of our thoughts and discussion on ‘Service’ from the previous meeting in the attached document.

Intercessory Prayer Group meets on Tuesday mornings by zoom.

Wednesday Morning Prayer is held at 8.30am for 15 minutes.  A time of quiet reflection to start the day. The link is the same as for Sunday worship.

Pentecost Novena Prayers continue each evening at 8.45pm for 15 minutes until Sunday 23rd.  The zoom link can be found in last week’s e-letter.


EMC Open Meeting: Wednesday 26th at 7pm.  Everyone is invited to join in the ongoing conversation, how we move forward in faith and service; trying to discern how we are being led by God.  Do come along. Zoom Link attached below.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello 

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Church Building (details below) for our Sunday Service starting at 10.30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team.

Currently we are not offering tea, coffee and biscuits after the service due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, but it is hoped we can re start soon.

Plan your journey: 

Open Google Maps

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There is a disabled toilet off the back of church.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10.30am, but when the music is led by our Worship Band, we have a few hymns &/or songs before the service starts. There is then a warm welcome from one of our Stewards. Church news & extra notices may also be given at this time. Our services are typically an hour long, with a mixture of hymns, prayers, bible readings and a sermon. One of our leaders will give the sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We finish with a final worship song before a final prayer is said. (Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.)

Earlsdon Methodist Church aims to provide a safe & welcoming environment in which children can be themselves & have fun learning about our Christian faith. Please see our Sunday Services page for more information on Sunday morning groups for children.

 
Current mid-week groups available for children are as follows:

  • Prayers & Bears – every Wednesday morning starting at 8.45 am. This is hosted by the church but led by Tulo & Sarah Raistrick from St Barbara’s C of E Church & is open to parents & carers with children aged ?).
     
  • Dayspring Steel Band – please follow this link for more information.

In addition to the above we now have two youth pastors, Ruda & Ady, & we welcome the new opportunities that they are bringing for our children & youth

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, morning, afternoons and evenings.
